STORM CLEANUP

Monsoon season can wreak havoc on your pool, with heavy rain, strong winds, and potential flooding. All the excess debris that gets carried by the wind into your pool can cause serious damage if not taken care of quickly. After a storm, you may be looking for a company to clean up your pool, and Bright and Clear Pools are just the people to call.

We offer a one-time storm clean up for both current and new clients on an as-needed basis. Because the winds are so strong during storm season, debris that makes its way into your pool can clog the pump which makes it unable to circulate and causes your pool to turn green very quickly. During the summer, monsoon season is unpredictable, and having a green pool that isn’t safe to swim in isn’t ideal for anyone.

If you call us for a storm cleanup, our pool techs will net the surface and bottom of your pool only if and when it is necessary. This is an inexpensive measure that can help prevent your pump and filter system from getting clogged with leaves and debris after a storm.

We highly recommend you to take advantage of this storm cleanup option, because it can prevent expensive repairs to your system. Continue reading for more details…

GREEN POOLS

In Arizona, summer is always right around the corner and having a green pool is not only an eyesore, but they can be hazardous to your health as well. Green pools very quickly turn into a dangerous breeding ground for bacteria, disease and the potentially deadly West Nile Virus.

Pool water can change from green to dark brown in a surprisingly short period of time, depending on water temperature. We recommend calling us as soon as you realize your pool is not the sparkly clear-blue color it is supposed to be. The faster you get a professional to come to your home and care for your pool the better. Continue reading..

FULL SERVICE

Our full service pool cleaning and maintenance is like none other. When we say full service, we mean it. Your pool will always look like perfection. The full service maintenance offers a variety of things to make sure your pool is always swim ready.

The walls, steps and benches are all carefully brushed which helps prevent algae, calcium and mineral buildup. The surface and floor are netted. The pump and skimmer baskets are always emptied and cleaned out, as well as leaf canisters and bags on automatic cleaning systems. This helps reduce the chance of debris getting lodged in the pump’s impeller and jamming it, making it unable to circulate.

We make sure the filters are regularly backwashed and the pool equipment is monitored for optimal performance. The pump lid O-ring is inspected and lubed, and your water is tested to make sure the pool’s PH is balanced. If PH is too high, it can have a very adverse effect on the pool’s equipment as well as the pool’s surface. It potentially could damage it’s visual appeal and significantly shortening it’s life. Out of balance PH can also irritate the skin and eyes.

We will always leave a service slip indicating the date and time of our service. Know that we also take great precaution to ensure that all gates into your pool & yard are closed, latched, and locked as we found them. This is to prevent dogs from escaping and ensure the safety of the neighborhood children.

**We no longer service fiber glass pools.

CHLORINE WASH & POWER WASH

Chlorine washes along with a power wash are used to remove algae and some stains and are less invasive than acid washes.  We have found it to be the most effective way to quickly treat a green pool. We have successfully treated and removed black algae infestations using both a power wash with a chlorine wash.  The filter must be treated at the same time along with a special chemical treatment added to the freshwater for this protocol to be successful.

A chlorine wash pool treatment can brighten your pool surface at a fraction of the cost of replastering, leaving your pool sparkling, clear, and swim-ready. We refer out all acid washes and we no longer do them ourselves.

TILE CLEANING

When we say we do it all in terms of pool maintenance, we mean it. We specialize in tile cleaning to guarantee that your pool is left sparkling and looking brand new. We use a cleaning process which removes ugly scale and calcium buildup from your tile to restore its natural sparkle and beauty. We don’t use caustic chemicals or abrasive pumice which can leave scratches in your tile, and have marginal results at best. PLUS you won’t even need to drain your pool! Read more..

ADDITIONAL SERVICE INFO

  • We keep chlorine levels at Health Department recognized safe levels between 3 – 5 ppm.
  • If we haven’t added chlorine tabs, it is because your chlorine level is already high, and we don’t want to exceed the health department recommended levels.
  • We keep PH between 7.2 – 7.6. Out-of-balance PH can damage your pool’s surface and equipment and cause skin and eye irritation.
  • We are proactive. If we see an equipment or plumbing problem, we will notify you. We address small issues, so they don’t become big expensive problems.
  • Brushing a pool is similar to brushing one’s teeth. It must be done consistently to avoid a bio-slime base where bacteria, algae, and minerals can build up.
  • Water is tested for stabilizer, total dissolved solids (TDS) and phosphates as needed.
We take great precautions to ensure that all access gates into your yard and pool are closed, latched or locked as found to prevent dogs from escaping and ensure the safety of children.
  • Specialty chemicals such as shock, phosphate remover, algaecides, and stabilizers are not included and are only added when needed.
